What’s included in beta version 1.5.1 (b 118)
- Media Dock Items for local audio, video, clips, dragging/export, and Apple Music references.
- Searchable, folder-preserving Shortcuts import and background execution.
- Active-first Mini-Dock sorting, improved Shift Items presentation, and folder management actions.
- Folder-type persistence, clearer folder terminology, corrected running-app indicators, search navigation, and About-panel reliability.
What’s included in beta version 1.5 (b 110)
- Five Mini-Docks with seven items per Mini-Dock.
- Applications, files, folders, URLs, packages, special folders, custom icons, and nested hierarchy editing.
- Accessibility starter content, large labels/icons, hover speech, and application-wide override.
- Fixed Shift Items, App Shortcuts actions, diagnostics, backups, and Free-to-Plus StoreKit upgrade support.
What Needs Testing
Exercise each area through relaunch, restart, offline operation, and changed display arrangements.
Media
- Soundboard playback, retriggering, simultaneous sounds, volume, and non-destructive ranges.
- QuickTime and other local video previews, controls, resizing, and range boundaries.
- Original-file dragging/export and rendered `.m4a` or `.mov` clips without source modification.
- Apple Music song/playlist references, missing files, malformed links, and persistence.
Mini-Dock Management
- Active-first sorting and exact restoration of manual order.
- Fixed Shift Items with the default mail app and bold Mini-Dock header.
- Create a Mini-Dock from folder contents and copy nested folder hierarchies between Mini-Docks.
- Search-result single-click selection, double-click activation boundaries, and Configuration updates.
Install and Edition Boundaries
- Fresh install, starter docks, disabled Accessibility dock, launch, quit, restart, and update.
- Correct version/build, Free status, 5/7 limits, StoreKit Plus upgrade, cancellation, offline errors, and restore.
- No mention, link, license import, or call to action for the separately distributed edition.
- Sixth-dock and eighth-item limit messages preserve all existing data.
Mini-Docks and Settings
- Create, rename, duplicate, delete, activate, select, and manually reorder Mini-Docks.
- Left, right, and bottom edges; manual Apple Dock edge; multiple displays and scaling.
- Icon size, labels, trigger thickness/delay, auto-hide, defaults, templates, factory reset, and help.
- Free boundaries: no ABC view, customized Shift Items, double-click activation, or import.
Items and Packages
- Apps, files, folders, URLs, separators, multiple selections, special folders, Finder icon, and BBEdit project folders.
- Apps, Xcode projects, AppleScript bundles, workflows, and other packages behave as files/apps rather than folders.
- Open With, rename, remove, reveal, URL favicon refresh, missing targets, and offline behavior.
- Choose, paste, restore, preserve, export, and re-import custom icons.
Hierarchy, Dragging, and Folders
- Hierarchy sheet with the mini-dock, ordered items, nested folders, expand/collapse, and multi-selection.
- Move one or many items before siblings, into folders, between levels, or back to the mini-dock root.
- Create top-level/nested folders and move selected items into a new folder in one action.
- Finder drops at every level, same-dock moves, cross-dock copies, cycle prevention, capacity rejection, rename, and delete.
Runtime Interaction
- Full-width edge trigger, flush positioning, hover magnification, labels, scrolling, and no post-hover edge shift.
- App menu, item contextual menu, show/hide/open-all/remove/quit actions.
- Shift displays fixed additional items and the Mini-Dock/version header at the leading edge.
- Option menu sorting remains unavailable in Free and never changes manual order.
Accessibility and Recovery
- Accessibility starter items, Apple guides, and System Settings Accessibility action.
- Per-dock large icons/labels, Speak on Hover, global override, VoiceOver, focus, sheets, and alerts.
- Export/share, automatic backups, protected snapshots, pruning, restore, and persistence.
- Diagnostics display/copy/report redaction and shared App Intents/Shortcuts actions.
