What’s included in beta version 1.5.1 (b 118)
- Media Dock Items for local audio, video, clips, dragging/export, and Apple Music references.
- Searchable, folder-preserving Shortcuts import and background execution.
- Active-first and ABC sorting, editable Shift Items defaults, and folder management actions.
- Folder-type persistence, clearer folder terminology, corrected running-app indicators, search navigation, and About-panel reliability.
What’s included in beta version 1.5 (b 110)
- Up to 100 Mini-Docks with 50 items per Mini-Dock.
- Alphabetical Settings/menu sorting, palettes, editable Shift Items, recursive hierarchy editing, and cross-dock copying.
- Portable Mini-Dock/settings import and export, custom icons, accessibility, defaults, diagnostics, and backups.
- StoreKit purchasing, entitlement restoration, Free fallback, and App Store-safe feature boundaries.
What Needs Testing
Every Free feature remains part of Plus; these are the additional entitlement-specific priorities.
Media
- Soundboard playback, retriggering, simultaneous sounds, volume, and non-destructive ranges.
- QuickTime and other local video previews, controls, resizing, and range boundaries.
- Original-file dragging/export and rendered `.m4a` or `.mov` clips without source modification.
- Apple Music references and Media persistence through Plus import/export between Macs.
Mini-Dock Management
- Active-first and ABC sorting, mutual exclusion, and exact restoration of manual order.
- One-time Default Shift Items dock, default mail app, customization, and bold Mini-Dock header.
- Create a Mini-Dock from folder contents and copy independent nested hierarchies to another Mini-Dock.
- Search-result single-click selection, double-click activation, and Configuration-column updates.
StoreKit
- Purchase, cancel, retry, immediate unlock, offline launch, relaunch, restart, reinstall, and Restore Purchases.
- Correct UpDock+ status and 100/50 limits in Settings and Diagnostics.
- Predictable Free fallback without deleting excess saved docks/items, followed by full restoration.
- No mention, link, license import, or call to action for the separately distributed edition.
Capacity and Performance
- Create more than five docks and more than seven items.
- Verify exact 100-dock and 50-item boundaries without partial writes.
- Large dock scrolling, hover, labels, insertion animation, launch speed, and memory behavior.
- Import or duplicate near capacity and confirm deterministic results.
Sorting and Shift Items
- ABC view alphabetizes without changing stored manual order and disables dragging only while active.
- Press/release Option after opening app or item menus; sorting updates live and restores exactly.
- Customize one Shift Items source and test its leading items/header on every edge.
- Confirm Option and Shift never conflict and customized groups survive updates.
Organization and Hierarchy
- Double-click dock activation and palette copy behavior.
- Full recursive hierarchy editing with multi-selection, folder creation, nested moves, Finder drops, and cross-dock copies.
- Cycle/capacity rejection and atomic behavior with large 50-item containers.
- Custom icon library, packages, URL favicons, Open With, accessibility, defaults, and backups at scale.
Import and Portability
- Import `.updock` and legacy `.json` single docks, multiple docks, and complete settings.
- Round-trip nested folders, icons, favicons, bookmarks, palette/Option state, accessibility, and order.
- Move exports between Macs and handle missing/inaccessible targets.
- Verify sandbox-safe export/share/import and automatic backup recovery.
App Store Boundaries
- Add Automation, Show Package Contents, license import, and unrestricted filesystem automation remain absent.
- Arbitrary AppleScript, shell, UpDock Search, and Automator items do not run.
- Apple Dock edge remains user-selected rather than automatically detected.
- The built-in Accessibility Settings action and shared App Intents continue to work.
